the sun went down

My writing is something I truly love. Not just like I love to do it, but I truly love each piece like it is a child of mine. Each poem, story or piece express a part of me that may not have been free otherwise. The act of writing has given me the opportunity to say and feel my way through things I never thought possible.

I am a very emotional, passionate person, therefore I have had a broken heart on many occasions when I could not have what I thought I truly desired and was entitled to. I think this can also mean I can be a control-freak, but that does not sound as gentle. Love is something I feel we are all gifted. Each of us has the chance to feel love, then it almost instantly can go away. I learning to cling to the love I feel for myself and my Higher Power and not seek out something in someone else that they may never be able to fully give. My worth is not meant to come from others... it is meant to come from within me.

OK, enough with the mush.

Here is a poem I wrote a few years ago.

The Sun Went Down
The Sun went down
On all love gone
But was sure to rise
With something unknown

Faith to hang on
And Patience to wait
Lead life to somewhere
That nothing could break

Still standing here
With Love as their guide
Two souls march on
Eyes wide open, side by side

just finished

Today I finished "eat, pray, love" and have to say I am so terribly sad. Not because it has some catastrophic ending that left me heart broken, but because I am now finished. There was something like company that this book brought me. I felt like I was sitting and listening to an old friend give amazing renditions of her journey and tell me all the details of her amazing story.

This book really brought some pretty amazing awarenesses into the forefront of my mind. I wrote her a letter and received back a generic response, but I know it is in her words, so I feel like that is more than enough.

I encourage you to read this book. I really touched me.
