I told the stories of my past to anyone that would listen, eager to be seen and known. Now, I see my story of today, and still tell stories of old, but in a new way of reflection. The blame and victimhood have melted away and what is left is perspective, maturity, and grace. My past can't come up and snatch my present unless I invite him in and say, "Here, Past, have Present. Do what you will." For Past will surely squelch Present, for he is alone in the space of time. When I invite him to the table of my mind, to share and be heard, he is so insightful - the perspective is glorious. He is enveloped in a Spirt of Hope and Forgiveness. Past must have direction, however. He cannot maneuver this alone and needs my Spirit as a guide.
Blessings!
